Rose Denton wakes up in her car. She has no memory of how she got there. But she knows something bad happened…
There’s blood on the windscreen and bonnet – but it’s not hers and there’s no sign of anything or anyone she might have hit. The last thing she remembers is being in a hotel on a business trip but now she’s miles away.Back home and her daughter’s boyfriend is missing. The last thing he did was argue with Rose over money. He left no note, no text, no clue as to his whereabouts.
The police have questions – and so does Rose’s family. But those are little compared to the ones she has for herself.
What happened last night? And, perhaps more importantly, does she really want to know the answer?
A totally addictive psychological thriller which will keep you turning the pages until the final dramatic twist.
“Last Night” was a suspenseful, edge-of-your-seat read that kept me guessing throughout! I love a story that starts off with a jammed packed scene that automatically sets the stage for the rest of the story!
When Rose woke up in a field in the wee hours of the morning not knowing how she got there or why there was blood all over her car, I immediately began trying to piece together the events! Kerry Wilkinson did a great job untangling the web of suspects carefully which kept me questioning who I thought was behind this crazy set of events!
I almost made it to the end without guessing! I figured it out close to the end but coming to this realization didn’t ruin the story at all. I was pleased to see how the cast of characters were connected. He did a great job making me think that everyone was guilty! I went through each chapter trusting each character less and less!
With a perfect number of twists and sprinklings and smatterings of doubt throughout the story, Wilkinson managed to write a fabulous book! I look forward to reading more of his work!!
