She’s controlling, great at laying on the guilt trips, and very demeaning. She’s constantly making Eva second guess her choices.
Then there’s Eva..WHO ALWAYS SECOND GUESSES HER CHOICES!!! I wanted to shake Eva’s shoulders on more than one occasion in the book as she doesn’t use her instincts to trust her own decisions. As a mother, this should be priority! But then again, her mom is really good at it! Then there’s Neil, the mysterious husband who you really love to hate sometimes but feel bad for at times too! Ahhh! See what I mean!
Ok so Eva and Neil can’t have kids and decide to adopt little Millie, a four year old little girl who had an unfortunate upbringing. They are so ready to be loving doting parents!!! So why is it so difficult to get past this trial period? Oh wait… you haven’t “met” Eva’s mother! She’s up to something… what is she accusing someone of now?
