What if someone threatened your happily ever after?
A brilliantly suspenseful domestic noir about family, motherhood, and choosing the right people to trust. Perfect for readers of Amanda Prowse and Sabine Durrant.
Eve and Neil live in the beautiful Cumbrian town of Tarnside. After years of trying for a baby, they are in the final stages of adopting four-year-old Milly.
They just have to pass the ‘settling in’ period – three months of living together as a family under watchful eyes – and then they can make it official.
For Eve, her heartbreak is nearly at an end. She now has this perfect little girl in her life, a little girl who calls her mummy.
But Eve’s dream of a happy family is fragile. Any hint of trouble and social services will take Milly away. One misunderstanding, one rumour, one accusation, could smash Eve’s family to pieces.
“The Accusation” is a fast paced thrilling ride of a read! Zosia Wand does a great job creating characters that really portray the intended mood! For example, Eva’s mother… ugh… she’s ridiculous! She’s controlling, great at laying on the guilt trips, and very demeaning. She’s constantly making Eva second guess her choices.
Then there’s Eva..WHO ALWAYS SECOND GUESSES HER CHOICES!!! I wanted to shake Eva’s shoulders on more than one occasion in the book as she doesn’t use her instincts to trust her own decisions. As a mother, this should be priority! But then again, her mom is really good at it! Then there’s Neil, the mysterious husband who you really love to hate sometimes but feel bad for at times too! Ahhh! See what I mean!
Ok so Eva and Neil can’t have kids and decide to adopt little Millie, a four year old little girl who had an unfortunate upbringing. They are so ready to be loving doting parents!!! So why is it so difficult to get past this trial period? Oh wait… you haven’t “met” Eva’s mother! She’s up to something… what is she accusing someone of now? Will this accusation be the reason Eva’s life comes crashing down to the ground? Will all her dreams be destroyed? Is her mother’s accusation founded or is she just crazy?
Well, you should definitely read Zosia Wand’s new title “The Accusation” for the love of suspense, twists, and a great shocking ending. 5 ⭐️ from Two Girls and a Book Obsession

“This is why I write. I write to take control. I was a lonely child in a chaotic environment and I was powerless. My stories allow me to create fictional worlds where I have the power to lead my characters through the chaos to a better place. I explore the dark side of life, but there is a counterbalance. My characters experience challenges and difficulties, but they are also offered sources of kindness and support. They don’t always recognise this, but it is there for them to find. Rather like life, as I have found.”
