What Light by Jay Asher

“People think what they want. That’s what I’ve had to accept,” he says. “I can fight it, but that’s exhausting. I can feel hurt about it, but that’s torture. Or I can decide it’s their loss.”

Sierra is super excited that she will be spending another Christmas season on her family’s tree farm (something she has done as long as she remembers) in Oregon. She’ll miss her friends from her hometown in CA, but selling Christmas Trees in Oregon is part of her childhood.

Next year, Sierra will be a senior in HS and is beginning to wonder if this might be the last time she’ll be spending December on her family’s tree farm. She has no interested in meeting a boy or falling in love but she never expected Caleb…

Caleb is a handsome boy who visits her tree farm often buying trees to deliver to people who can’t afford their own. How sweet???? So why do people say Caleb isn’t the person people think?

Sierra begins spending more and more time with him and eventually learns why his past haunts him.

We give this book 4/5 stars and think it’s an adorable YA heartwarming Christmas story. A definite Hallmark Special worthy episode!!! Goodreads ReviewsWhat Light on Amazon Jay Asher on Twitter
