When a beautiful, aspiring writer strides into the East Village bookstore where Joe Goldberg works, he does what anyone would do: he Googles the name on her credit card.

There is only one Guinevere Beck in New York City. She has a public Facebook account and Tweets incessantly, telling Joe everything he needs to know: she is simply Beck to her friends, she went to Brown University, she lives on Bank Street, and she’ll be at a bar in Brooklyn tonight—the perfect place for a “chance” meeting.

As Joe invisibly and obsessively takes control of Beck’s life, he orchestrates a series of events to ensure Beck finds herself in his waiting arms. Moving from stalker to boyfriend, Joe transforms himself into Beck’s perfect man, all while quietly removing the obstacles that stand in their way—even if it means murder.

This has been on my list for some time. It is a book I’ve really been wanting to read. I finally got it on audio book and all I can say what on earth did I just listen to?!?!

You is such a twisted book! Once I started it I couldn’t stop! It was a great love story with a twist of stalking, obsession, and murder. Joe was such a calm collected and reasonable guy about his type of “dating”. It was all perfectly logical and the obvious way it should be. To be let into Joe’s mind the way we were was what made this book! I love that it was him telling us everything and how everything should be and how normal he made it all sound. It was undeniably creepy but in the best possible way. I really enjoyed this book and I’m so glad I picked it up. As for when I found out there was a second book, I put it on hold immediately and went from book one to book two right away.

Caroline Kepnes did such a fantastic job on this story that I want to read all her books…and I probably will.
