Presented by James Patterson’s new children’s imprint, this deliciously creepy horror novel has a storyline inspired by the Ripper murders and an unexpected, blood-chilling conclusion…
Seventeen-year-old Audrey Rose Wadsworth was born a lord’s daughter, with a life of wealth and privilege stretched out before her. But between the social teas and silk dress fittings, she leads a forbidden secret life.
Against her stern father’s wishes and society’s expectations, Audrey often slips away to her uncle’s laboratory to study the gruesome practice of forensic medicine. When her work on a string of savagely killed corpses drags Audrey into the investigation of a serial murderer, her search for answers brings her close to her own sheltered world.
The story’s shocking twists and turns, augmented with real, sinister period photos, will make this dazzling, #1 New York Times bestselling debut from author Kerri Maniscalco impossible to forget.
I’m very guilty of picking up a book based solely on the cover. I’ve done this many many times and have been known to not even read what the book is about. This book was one of those times. The cover was absolutely beautiful and I wanted it immediately. The fact that it was about Jack the Ripper Just made it that much better. I’ve always been interested in reading about that time and about Jack the Ripper. I will say that this way of picking books does not always work out in my favor. A beautiful cover doesn’t always mean a great book. However in the Case of Kerri Maniscalco’s Stalking Jack the Ripper the stunning cover was hiding a jewel. I can’t say how much I loved this book! full of wonderful characters from the strong independent Audrey Rose Wadsworth, who would not just accept what society decided she was or what she could do, to her partner in crime, to her very different family members this book was unputdownable I started it on Saturday and finished it at 6am this morning. I figured out who I was blaming about halfway through but got more and more worried it would be left to us to decide, as with the real ripper case. In this however Kerri Maniscalco did not disappoint and did give us a Ripper and some closure. I love love loved this book and will start the second book very soon. She is a remarkable story teller and uses fascinating characters from history from which to draw her stories from.
5 stars all the way!!!

Kerri Maniscalco grew up in a semi-haunted house outside NYC where her fascination with gothic settings began. In her spare time she reads everything she can get her hands on, cooks all kinds of food with her family and friends, and drinks entirely too much tea while discussing life’s finer points with her cats.
Her first novel in this series, Stalking Jack the Ripper, debuted at #1 on the New York Times bestseller list. It incorporates her love of forensic science and unsolved history. (Goodreads)
