Very intriguing start… a widow, a box of unread letters on the anniversary of her husband’s death, 3 male friends one of whom has been a childhood friend of the bride and the others friends of the couple all on their way to a secluded cabin upstate in hopes that some peace can be restored to their lives. Definitely weird wrapping my head around going upstate with three men to morn the loss of your husband but…Kiersten knows what she’s doing.
But when Colbie cracks open the box of letters and finds a letter containing words she couldn’t understand, she spends the time trying to figure out cryptic messages from the past. Her friends aren’t thrilled about her insistence until she begins to ask questions that lead to shocking answers. Answers that recreate a different picture of her wedding night and what she thought of those she knew and loved most.
This was. It a typical psychological thriller that some readers many have expected coming from Kiersten. Kiersten has written other really fabulous domestic suspense books like My Husband’s Secret. “If You Are Reading This” was a great book about love loss, shocking betrayals and friendship. It won’t leave you sleeping with one eye open like you probably did when reading The Arrangement Series but nonetheless it will elicit feelings of surprise, sadness, and hope. So, another great one Kiersten Modglin!
