Usually sequels don’t interest us. However, when Kiersten Modglin ended “The Arrangement”, we (like so many other fans) were left wondering what the hell happened next to Ainsley and Peter! We kept going back and forth between “what in the amazing holy hell did we just read” and “no no no, it can’t be over”. Which is why we did figurative cartwheels when we heard that Kiersten was giving readers what we asked for… the SEQUEL! Now…we thought “this could easily go one of two ways.”
1) The sequel could end up being an overstretch of the original story and ultimately ruin the first book thus being a big disappointment (confirming how we feel about sequels).
OR…..
2) The sequel could provide our inquiring minds the level of “WTF did I just read” and continue to mess with our minds long after turning the last page. In addition, it could even end with another “no, no, no… this can’t be over…”!
Well as we have said in every Modglin book we have read and reviewed… Kiersten DOES NOT DISAPPOINT! This book is a total mind blowing, twisted, and suspenseful rollercoaster that will provide readers with a HUGE book hangover! So it’s obvious that we felt the latter of the above mentioned choices!
Ok… with that being said, back to Peter and Ainsley…
“If someone were to look in at us, we’d look like an average couple having a boring conversation over a mostly empty dinner table. It amazed me the secrets you could hide by appearing average.”
So now the question remains what does an average couple really look like and what secrets are Peter/Pete and Ainsley/Annie really hiding this time around? Or maybe the better question to ask is will their marriage survive the secrets this go around?
